After quite a few weeks of banging our heads against the event, tonight finally everything fell into place and we managed to beat the last event from The Darkened Sea called Calix Quirinus and Lanys.

Yes, once again Lanys T'Vyl was used as an adversary, what a novel idea! Anyway I have to admit that in this last incarnation that Darkelf lady was a real pain to fight. There was quite a bit going on (emotes, AEs, knockbacks, liches), but the most annoying part of this event from my point of view were the spark workers (some golems), who had a tendency to attack casters despite OTs using all their tools to get them controlled. I have never found events particularly amusing where certain classes were hindered to do their job properly. Yes in the end we worked around it (also the time between the golems blurring themselves was prolonged in a patch), but nonetheless I find it frustrating when you try to get a mob OTed properly and on a wimp the mob turns and runs to a freshly rezzed caster who didn't do anything to it - sorry, but that is simply retarded.
Whatever, tonight we overcame all obstacles, all those pesky little details which made us abort so often, so in the end we all got us some AA and could cheer:
As usual upon beating an expansion here is a picture of the successful raiders in their glory:
These are only those who were inside the raid upon the final attempt, but I would like to congratulate all the members of Raging Fury on finishing another expansion of EverQuest. While we have dropped out of the top 5 guilds (and actually also the top 10) lately, we still do well enough for such an old guild. While many other guilds on our server Antonius Bayle have fallen over the years, we still stand strong and provide a new home for some of those who would otherwise have been scattered across multiple guilds. Of course it is not always easy to integrate a huge number of new players into an old structure, but after a time people start to learn to coordinate and feel comfortable in their new surroundings, making the guild in total stronger. This has happened to our guild with the influx of not one, but two groups of players from other guilds on the server: Wind of Tranquility and Darkwind. Working side by side for a common goal is the best way to overcome barriers which always exist between rivaling guilds and I think that over the last months our new guild members have come to accept Raging Fury as their new home.
I will write a bit more about my personal verdict on TDS on one of the next days, but I do not want to finish without saying a huge "Thank you" to all of the team who have made this victory possible, first of all our main raid leader Nilzera, but also Rhuurgar who has lead many raids in TDS too. Second I want to thank the other officers Jarasil (great raid leading there too), Vmas (you still rock for doing the pesky RFP snaps) and our newest officer Washu for being a fearless bunny.
Also a huge thanks to all of our new class leaders, to all those people who have volunteered to sit out so we could get the right raid setup and of course to all those who have thrown themselves into the battle doing their very best on every attempt
Last but not least I would like to thank two people who are not members of our guild anymore: Fehu and Dantius. This may seem unusual to some, but both have worked really hard to integrate all those new members, to keep the guild on track and they both have left less than two weeks ago. Your work inside RF is not forgotten!
OK, that's it for now, we are closing in towards midnight, so I will finish this off simply by saying
Well done RF!

Tonight Raging Fury has put the mighty prismatic dragon Kerafyrm the Awakened back to sleep as the first guild on
Antonius Bayle and fifth serverwide.
It has been a long way for us. We started our first real attempt on Kerafyrm on may 27th and early june we reached the
50% mark. On june 10th we reached 21% and the goal was in sight after spending 7 full days working on Kerafyrm when
lockouts on the rest of the zone and patches allowed it. It was a challenge to adjust to the AE, but we have kept improving our tactics and alot of different
approaches have been tried, while in the meantime our execution got better and better, eventually ending with this:
Once again we confirm our position among the best in EQ. We can only regret that we didnt get the chance to kill the same pre-patch version that we had been working on and came close to killing. However we are ready to
take on the challenge if/when the encounter gets retuned in difficulty again. After all, its not just about winning,
but winning with style!
I will try to get some screenies of the loot as soon as possible
What can I say..we have never been the fastest starters, but once we get rolling, we are unstoppable. I cant even keep up with making frontpage updates like this. Just 2 days after we defeated Astire, the Lunar Eclipe, we laid the smackdown on Irissa the Seer
With our copenhagen RL gathering past us, I guess I can not postpone this update any longer, although I am still somewhat in shock over discovering that Kithin is not really pink in RL and Xack
does not have a tail to name just a few surprises!
Actually this is not really news anymore, cause while I was slacking on the update, we went ahead and killed Irissa one more time and even made a brief visit to Commodus, supposedly the toughest
encounter in the zone. As promised, I do have a few pictures this time, courtesy of various other guildmembers since I was actually sitting outside in Katta trying to get the Astire update done
when guildchat was flooded with WOOOOOOTs from the first kill
First of we have a couple of action shots
And ofcourse the mandatory guild photo
The Irrissa event gave access to TBS arms and while the whole phospene cluster system allows people to buy lesser armor pieces instead of arms, I do believe that we got some nice
Gleaming Energeiac Chain Sleeves for Hohyed, Pristine Energeiac Plate Vambraces for Illandra and Phased Energeiac Silk Sleeves for Fuzzy.
As well as 2 x Silver Earring of Ephemeral Healing for Trebung and Aderel and along with that a Black Dirk of Shrouded Fate for Mensox and last but definitely not least a brand new Venomous Fang of the Seer for Calen.
All in all a nice round of upgrades
Looking forward to presenting you with some pictures of the Commodus event as soon as possible
One day Kikthin was wandering through the woods in his pink hooded cape on his way to visit his grandmother. Once there, to his horror, he found his grandmother gone and a big mean wolf sleeping in her bed instead.
"My, what big teeth you have" said Kikthin and the wolf replied "That's so I better can eat you!". Kikthin screamed "No way!", kicked the wolf in a very special place and ran to the guild hall and gathered up all the
Raging Fury troops. Soon we were on our way
After testing some stuff as always and wiping several times, we made a nice little battleplan, wiped some more, changed plan etc etc. Tonight we executed it and you see the result below
Congratulations to Illandra and Kikthin on their new helmets
And big gratz to Sharifa and Grynoldy as well on respectively new augment and ring
And we lived happily ever after. Well, until tomorrow atleast..
Just a brief update to confirm that we did indeed kill the Balreth event in Solteris just a couple days after Aprosis went down.
I will keep this short for two reasons. I think the Aprosis update is still bigger news and deserve the spotlight a bit longer and second I think we will see an update about a Dead event 4 before too long and
Im too lazy to do 3 updates so close together.
So stay tuned for more
I am proud to say we are back in full force. For todays event we had 63 people online after adding another excellent batch of recruits and also cause the Raging Fury army was smelling victory approaching.
We are a pretty well balanced guild and always have been. Always had a great cleric team and super supportclasses. Add to that a strong tank team
and because of sisters, now also a fair deal of dps and you have a nice mix of classes that should be able to deal with whatever you send at us that doesnt just focus on one thing. We have tried to balance
our raids between farming TSS and progressing in TBS while slowly getting a few keyclasses that we lacked. Result is an all-round wellgeared guild and Solteris will get a taste of
what we are like when we get rolling
When we did the sister event, I could have sworn that was probably one of the toughest events I had ever seen. Ofcourse, by then I hadn't seen the Aprosis event yet. I was a bit discouraged by our first attempts on Aprosis. So much chaos.
Soemhow we succeeded in controlling this chaos and I have a newfound respect for our mezzers and offtank team. It didn't take us nearly as many attempts to get this down as we had on sisters. Maybe because you dont have as strict a timer and you can choose to go less dps and instead go in a bit more
controlled manner. For a guild like ours, this is perfect. We ended last week with a wipe to Aprosis with him being at 0%. So atleast we knew it was doable with some luck on the random generator on adds and a very tiny bit of tuning the final stages. Most importantly, it was doable without any cheesy
tactics. Just straight up oldschool tanking, healing, mezzing and alot of praying for good luck. So today we went back, determined to finally put Aprosis and his henchmen behind us. After a couple of "warm-up" runs, we decided to push our dinnerbreak back a bit for another attempt while we were focused.
Good decision. Orc went well, adds went smooth and even Aprosis settled in after a bit of a rough start. Slowly, but steady he was going. Can't say it was flawless since I was among the Dead myself and not just mages and halflings on the casualtylist, but it was a a nice run that brought the adrenalin up
and even at 10% there was the risk of a wipe. Quite a rush. And from the screenshot below, you can see the relief and sense of accomplishmen these kind of fights bring
I must admit I was a bit busy during the event, so didn't have alot of time to stop and enjoy the scenery and take pictures. You will have to settle for one very Dead vampire and the winning team
that was online today and took him out in an amazing display of teamwork
Congratulations to Sidarx and Kikthin on their new gauntlets
And likewise to our two stabbers Chapox and Infectorz on their new weapons.
As always, I will end with the usual recruiting speech. We are lucky enough that we dont have to hunt down people, but are getting a nice steady stream of people interesting in joining our great guild.
Most spots have been filled, but I do believe we still have a few vacant spots for specific classes
like a wizard, an enchanter, a berzerker to name a few. You are able to see the full list
Here! Servertransfers are welcome to apply, we have quite a few of those and have good experiences with it.
Please send us your info either as PM or preferably via e-mail here:
Apply! and we will get back to you as soon as possible. You can also contact Illandra, Abadonn or Sharifa as well as any officer online.
While the ongoing World Cup soccer has made us adjust our schedule to ensure good turnout and focus, it hasnt stopped us from kicking ass.
The World Champions still remain to be found, but Im proud to announce that the european champions have been found! Once again Raging Fury
finishes an expansion among the top 5 serverwide. Although we were not serverwide first this time, I must say I am proud of our performance
the last couple weeks.
Even knowing that a "nerf" was incoming on the Enforcer event in Deathknell, we have been throwing ourself at the event in the original state
instead of waiting for it to be made easier and I am confident we would soon have joined the few tough ones, Assent and Tide, who beat this event
in the old version. Deep respect to our friends in Tide on that acomplishment and I wish we could have proven we could beat the same version
before we killed Ayonae Ro.
As usual I will refrain from whining and flaming too much about DK, I believe it to be more contructive to make sure the right changes go into the
game as soon as possible. We all agree enforcer event was nerfed too hard. To a guild that has worked hard on beating the old version, the new one
is just a tad too easy. We found event #2 to be very enjoyable and probably pretty well-balanced in its current state. About event #3, I can only
echo what has been said on other boards. Some say Ayonae Ro is also too easy. I tend to disagree. Atleast it seem you can do it 2 different ways,
where one is much easier. We won doing it the hard way, so it seemed like a pretty good fight to me.
It took us several tries over a couple days to get it right and have the right people we needed for it, but the outcome was inevitable. In a race
against time before too many logged and with people semi focusing on watching the Spain soccer match (bad boys! bonk!), we decided to give it one
last shot before calling it a night. Testing a new tactic, we started the fight and pretty fast you could see that people were actually performing
much better than our earlier tries. It felt right. Surely she would die? About 30 mins later the cheering filled guildchat as we put a stopper to
the wannabe karaokeesinger that is Ayonae Ro
Not only did we bag us a serverfirst and serverwide 4th kill, we also got 3 brand new loots not seen before (Illandra tried to loot 3 tonfas, but was
distracted long enough for us to actually get something good!)
We are looking forward to going back to Deathknell and if you want to join us there, recruiting is currently open. We are looking specifically for the following:
- Bard
- Monk
- Necromancer
- Berzerker
- Rogue
- Druid
- Shadowknight
to join our ranks, but even if not one of those classes, we will take into consideration exceptional
candidates. People contact Illandra in game or use the contact link here on the website.
Post years of unchallenged reign, the newspage of Raging Fury was finally slain today, replaced with a
graphical innovation that in my opinion is a vaste improvement of our informational relay channel
to the Everquest Community.
Kenneth Weide, more commonly known as Knekker the rogue on Antonius Bayle, graciously offered us his talents when
learing that we wished to enhance our webpage. On several occasions in the past, the guild has utilized Knekker's
services, primarily through the signature picture that has become a tradmark of both his artistic abiLities,
and distinct method of approach. Personally I must admit to being somewhat surprised at the temperance displayed
by the artist upon learning that the design needed minor alterations for the sixth or seventh time, though I think
I can safely speak for every party involved when I say that the end result is an epitome of our expectations.
There will come a time when Knekkers work will reap great renown, and without doubt he will shortly host an online
gallery for more extensive display of his work, but until such a time arrives, you can view his prior projects on
our forum through clicking here. On behalf of the entire guild, thank you kindly Knekker!

Despite installing a php based news updating system allowing for other members to update once in a while, there
seems to be an eerie feel of reluctance towards accepting remotely connected to public display. Thus the readers
will have to endure my rants for the time being. The two images included above were chosen merely as they are the
main protagonists of our weekly raiding agenda, and to prevent the first update on the new page to consist solely
of text. As insignificant as it might seem, the return of the Circle of Drakes event was highly appreciated, and
added a tinge of something new to an all but redundant schedule. The announcement of the new expansion arrived not a
minute too late, and as always before, new content
lures the community into a state of eager acceptance, brooding silently whilst awaiting different challenges.
A few updates back we blantantly disclosed the fact that one of our most active wizards, Skyllah, still
adorns herself with elemental clothing. Apparantly she is not alone when indulging in such planar remnants, through mail, I received information that amongst the wizards of Heaven & Earth, there resides a
player by the name of Kilzadi who oddly enough also wears the cloak of combustion! Pure happenstance? Or does this
cloak possess something exquisite and unique? Please feel free to attend Skyllah's historical lecture on planar armour in the Plane
of Knowledge this Saturday at 16.00 near the Priest of Discord.
Added by Uren, last but not least:
High Priest Nkosi Bakari fell within the caves of Txevu tonight, in what was confirmed
by developer Rashere to be a serverwide second kill of this particular mob. Having
literally spent every available raid night in the High Priest's all but charming presence,
this was without a quiver of doubt, the most challenging adversary we have ever
defeated, though also one of the most entertaining.
Twenty minutes post the point of engage, a weary raidforce was seen uttering
a display of euphoria knowing their week long dedication to this sole event had
yielded access to Zun'Muram Tkarish Zyk. One attempt, merely for educational purposes,
was made against the gatekeeper of Tacvi, though suffice to say, we hardly
dented the monstrosity. Albeit being a unique high end weapon, the monk staff had far from
a noteworthy appearance, however, having received inquiries, behold Karde in all his... glory?
