Happy holidays everyone!

The year is coming to an end and with that comes the time to look back and reflect on the year that has passed. Another eventful and exciting year for Raging Fury. Seems that time just flies when you are having fun. I had to cheat a bit and use our some of our pointsystem logs to even remember where we were one year ago.

Seems that 1 year ago, we were farming stuff like Citadel of Anguish, Vishimtar and Demiplane of Blood heavily. On january 3rd we killed Mayong Mistmoore for the first time. Sweet memories indeed! Shortly after came the Prophecy of Ro expansion with new challenges to overcome. In june we finished Prophecy of Ro and got ourself a couple months of relaxation and farming before next expansion beta started in august and eventually went live at the end of september.

Now we are nearing the completion of The Serpents Spine expansion, having cleared all mobs in Ashengate and with all the mobs in first Frostcrypt instance defeated right before our xmas break. I am certain when we return to raiding in january, we will plow through the last Frostcrypt mobs and have Shadeking Beltron lying Dead at our feet before long. Just in time it seems, as the next expansion beta is closing in on us already. Time does indeed fly...

Enough of this old dwarf's ramblings. From all of Raging Fury, I wish you all a Merry Xmas and a Happy new year! And to our members in Raging Fury...awesome work this past year. Even when things get tough, you never give up. Enjoy your well deserved quality time with your loved ones. See you all in 2007 to kick even more ass!

We wish you all a merry xmas and a happy new year!

03.12.2006 Raging Fury finishes Ashengate! by Dalrek

After carefull planning, analyzing in our tactics forum and even drawing small pictures of every phase to explain how we wanted to do it, the last event in Ashengate is defeated. Lethars final stand proved to be no match for a focused and wellprepared Raging Fury raid

In some ways this event will probably be the real challenge of TSS, atleast in its current state. I would have loved to defeat this encounter earlier, but it is a bit hard to defend spending all your time on a single fight, when you have a whole other zone waiting for you. So this is the major difference from encounters like Overlord Mata Muram and Mayong Mistmoore. Those were the final fights in their expansions and could have our undivided attention.

We never gave up getting it done though and with the right plan having been ready on the board for a while, all we needed was a good raidforce in a killing mood. Seems sunday was the day. After two initial runs ending with repectively 42% and 17%, we were certain we had it under control. As usual when we get our first endboss kills, it started getting late and people had to start thinking about work the next day. Thankfully we had 50 people willing to give it one last shot, despite the fact that most of us have to get up early

We engage...and 20 minutes later we still have 47 people Alive in the zone and a Dead Lethar at our feet. It was one of those fights where the adrenaline is pumping as you get closer and closer to winning and I must admit I started worrying around 15%. But I can proudly say that this was so well executed that it made me wonder if it really was the same fight and why we hadnt just done it weeks ago. Well done furies on getting us yet another serverfirst and ofcourse keeping us in the top 5 serverwide and last but not least getting this kill done before any patch could possibly change the fight and remove the chance to defeat the version that few had done before us.

If you have worked on this event, you will understand why I was a bit too busy to take some nice pictures this time. I promise I will do better when we go back and kill him again, cause I have no doubt he will be on the normal clearing schedule now

Lethar's corpse

We did not hit the jackpot on breastplate molds, but I think this is acceptable though

Loot

With Ashengate finished, we can now focus 100% on Frostcrypt and have started doing so even more than before. If you want the chance of being a part of Raging Fury as we roll through Frostcrypt and Ashengate, we are still open for applications from exceptional players

24.11.2006 Recruitment is open! by Dalrek

Raging Fury is looking for more players to join our ranks. In these poker times, you could say we are pretty much playing with a full deck of cards, all colors represented and we usually have the winning hand when we raid. However, that does not mean we dont have room to add an ace or two! Generally speaking, we are looking for demiplane level geared players, with around 800 AAs and high playtime. Exceptions to gear and AAs can be made and each applicant will be judged on an individual basis, but our guidelines should still give you a rough idea of what we would like.

You must be prepared to spend the needed time on faction work, endure numerous deaths breaking into new content and not get frustrated when the going gets tough. If you believe this profile fits you, please take a closer look at our recruiting section Here! Both native AB players as well as servertransfers are more than welcome to apply. Once you make up your mind, please send us your info either as PM or preferably via e-mail here: Apply! and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Feel free to include any extra info you believe will help your application

Ok, Enough about recruiting for now. Ofcourse I could not make an update without fancy pictures and progression updates! Since our last update, we have finished a round of reflagging for north wing Ashengate and we went back and took out Lethar and Dyn'Leth

Lethar Dyn'leth, Firstborn of Lethar

We also took a sneak peek into the Frostcrypt progression line. Even though I dont have any pictures of the major encounters on this side of the progression, you can rest assured that there will be tons and tons of Dead giants very soon

Kangur Vafta Veor Hight Lorekeeper Udengar Dergon

So what are we working on at the moment? The big final event in Ashengate, Lethar and Selay. While a challenging event, others have killed him. Raging Fury will soon as well.

Selay the Brokenwing

Just a brief update today for those who like to browse other guild sites and keep up to date on progess.

I am proud to say that the Raging Fury train has started rolling. With the faction frenzy that came with TSS, we decided to go at our own pace and make sure everyone got flagged and noone felt left behind and do lots of this stuff as raids. It may have taken us a week longer than some, but in the end it will pay off in terms of less burnout I believe. One of the things that separates us from others, is our teamwork and I must say I am proud of how the Raging Fury members have banded together and pulled through this phase that left alot of people very frustrated and worried about being left behind.

So has it paid off? I think it is safe to say it has. We downed Stitch as the first on the server and serverwide second. We downed Sothgar as second on the server a couple days after Tide who in return took down Stitch. Nice going guys. Let us show everyone that AB is the place to be for high end raiding!

Stitch Sothgar the Twiceborn

This places us amongst the top 5 guilds to have killed both Stitch and Sothgar and gotten access to north wing instance raids. But that was not enough for us. After entering north wing, we decided to give the first event a go after getting pretty much a full raid inside. Fast forward and the army of Dyn'Leth is scattered on the floor all around us in what can only be described as a pretty chaotic fight. Current status for us at the moment is having defeated the first two events in north wing. Way to go Raging Fury!

Emotes

Even though the second event for some reason left the corpse empty and no chests popping, we have still gotten a few decent loots along the way to where we are, including the first bow I have actually seen a ranger want in years! I leave you with an assorted selection of goodies from the Raging Fury treasure vault:

Loot

Good news! Recruiting is open for selected classes that want to be a part of our fantastic guild. I am not in charge of recruiting and Illandra will be able to answer more correctly exactly what we are looking for, but I do believe 1-2 clerics, rogue, shadowknight, monk and a couple more are on the wishlist. So dont hesitate to send a tell to Illandra if interested

19.09.2006 Raging mushrooms! by Dalrek

Ahoy landlubbers! Finally the big day has arrived. Wash your eyepatches, grab your cutlass and your favorite bottle of rum, "International Talk like a Pirate Day" is here! Oh, and The Serpents Spine expansion goes live today too.

It's been a while since our last update, but hopefully it will not be quite as long before our next. What have we been doing for the past 3 months since completing PoR you ask? Mainly we have been pillaging and plundering Demi-reef of Blood and Deathknell Island over and over, but once we got the opportunity to try some new scenery, we pulled up the anchor and set sail for TSS beta. I must say I am impressed by the determintation of the Raging Fury crew. Showing up on beta with no promises of Sweet treasure day after day, is in my humble opinion what seperates this guild from alot of others. It is the willingness to keep going that has made it possible for us to achieve many a serverfirst in the last expansions. Ofcourse the chance to influence the future means alot and I am happy to inform that we have some important stuff going live with this expansion, which has not been mentioned in todays patch message. First and foremost: New illusions! Also please note the nice feature on beta that allows you to see past peoples normal server titles and showing their true nature, revealing people who love Coco Puffs, Lost Beastlords and even Tonfa Queens

Raging mushrooms

Now we are back and ready to make some mobs walk the plank on good old Antonius Bayle. We have a full bloodthirsty crew ready to unleash hell upon TSS. The next weeks will bring much carnage. Grinding is back, new levels and AAs to be gained, new spells to be obtained, new flagging to be done and then we will emerge victorious as always, giants and dragons alike Dead at our feet

Like I said, we have a full and strong crew at the moment. But if you think you have got what it takes, we always have room for a few exceptional players. Exceptional meaning high raidattendance, wellgeared and highly skilled players. As comparison, the average hp in Raging Fury, all classes included, is above 13k, and the average AA count is above 1200. So anguish gear and 500 AA isnt exceptional and wont cut it even if 500 AA is usually enough for some classes. We might consider DP/DK/RZ geared players with MPG trials and DoN AAs done, good 1 group farmable augments and other indications that you are dedicated to the game though. Send a tell to Illandra in game, email her on application@raging-fury.org or use our PM function. The perfect time for joining is now before we get too far into flagging for the TSS endzones

As we all know, switching guilds and maybe even server like alot of our members did, is a big step. I can tell you hard facts about our hitpoints and AAs, I can tell you our average age (educated guess late 20s), percentage of males vs females in guild (approximately 25% girls) and how many US vs euro players we have (50ish% scandinavians, 30ish% other euros and around 10% US players), but some things cant really be explained without letting you take a peak into the daily life of Raging Fury. So to show you how nice people we really are, I present to you.....quote-o-rama!

Quotes

Thats all for this time mateys! We will return soon with some nice screenshots of Dead TSS critters.

19.06.2006 Prophecy of Ro completed! by Dalrek

While the ongoing World Cup soccer has made us adjust our schedule to ensure good turnout and focus, it hasnt stopped us from kicking ass. The World Champions still remain to be found, but Im proud to announce that the european champions have been found! Once again Raging Fury finishes an expansion among the top 5 serverwide. Although we were not serverwide first this time, I must say I am proud of our performance the last couple weeks.

Even knowing that a "nerf" was incoming on the Enforcer event in Deathknell, we have been throwing ourself at the event in the original state instead of waiting for it to be made easier and I am confident we would soon have joined the few tough ones, Assent and Tide, who beat this event in the old version. Deep respect to our friends in Tide on that acomplishment and I wish we could have proven we could beat the same version before we killed Ayonae Ro.

As usual I will refrain from whining and flaming too much about DK, I believe it to be more contructive to make sure the right changes go into the game as soon as possible. We all agree enforcer event was nerfed too hard. To a guild that has worked hard on beating the old version, the new one is just a tad too easy. We found event #2 to be very enjoyable and probably pretty well-balanced in its current state. About event #3, I can only echo what has been said on other boards. Some say Ayonae Ro is also too easy. I tend to disagree. Atleast it seem you can do it 2 different ways, where one is much easier. We won doing it the hard way, so it seemed like a pretty good fight to me.

Ayonae Ro Fight

It took us several tries over a couple days to get it right and have the right people we needed for it, but the outcome was inevitable. In a race against time before too many logged and with people semi focusing on watching the Spain soccer match (bad boys! bonk!), we decided to give it one last shot before calling it a night. Testing a new tactic, we started the fight and pretty fast you could see that people were actually performing much better than our earlier tries. It felt right. Surely she would die? About 30 mins later the cheering filled guildchat as we put a stopper to the wannabe karaokeesinger that is Ayonae Ro

Ayonae Ro dead

Not only did we bag us a serverfirst and serverwide 4th kill, we also got 3 brand new loots not seen before (Illandra tried to loot 3 tonfas, but was distracted long enough for us to actually get something good!)

Glass Orb of Consonance Diva's Mask of Eternal Beauty Symbol of Mezzoforte

We are looking forward to going back to Deathknell and if you want to join us there, recruiting is currently open. We are looking specifically for the following:

  • Bard
  • Monk
  • Necromancer
  • Berzerker
  • Rogue
  • Druid
  • Shadowknight

to join our ranks, but even if not one of those classes, we will take into consideration exceptional candidates. People contact Illandra in game or use the contact link here on the website.
