04.01.2006 Mayong Mistmoore slain! by Nineveh

Mayong Mistmoore transcended into full divinity tonight as his earthly form was slain in the Demi-Plane of Blood. Many nights have been spent amid Mayong's most trusted council, and despite making continous progress on the event, many of us could not hide our frustration when we wiped with the master of dreadspire at 2% nearing midnight.

Motivation was paragon however, and every single member remained online to make one final attempt, despite the fact that most of them were already dreading the morning thereafter. Euphoria is hardly adequate when attempting to define the seconds following our victory, but considering the effort our guild has put into the latest expansion, I think the feeling was ubiquitous. Never before have I received such a barrage of tells, fairly certain the number exceeded hundreds, most demanding that the aftermath of the encounter was included in the webpage update, namely the lore.

Mayong Mistmoore Mayong Down!

Supposedly the effects of Mayongs elaborate scheme should be evident in every zone of the game, though sadly this aspect of the encounter appeared broken. Action screenshots are all but lacking unfortunately, as I was rather preoccupied during the encounter, hopefully we can ameliorate on this in the future.

The Demi-Plane is strangely silent. Though Mayong's body is ...

This is the sweetest victory I could have every hoped for.

01.03.2006 Prophecy of Ro goes live by Dalrek

The Prophecy of Ro expansion is upon us and even though we have no news worthy of replacing Mayong, I guess it's only fair to those browsing various guildsites in search of news on the expansion, to offer a bit of help. First off let me apologize for for this update not being up to its usual standards, but our wordwizard and fearless leader Nineveh has decided to dedicate his energy to RL endevours. Either that or Svartrot ate him. In both cases we wish him the best of luck on his future journey and may it be filled with as much excitement for him as he made EQ and Raging Fury for those of us who had the pleasure of having him as leader.

As far as Prophecy of Ro goes, I wont get into the whole risk vs reward thing here. Lets just say dragons aren't what they used to be. We took down Porthio the Secondborn, but unfortunately I dont have any pictures from that fight at all, so instead I will leave you with one of the Eldarr mobs. Nothing interesting from that fight really, neither in terms of difficulty nor rewards, but it adds some color to the frontpage.

Guardian of the High Priest

Moving on we find the one mob that put up a fight so far, although he still bit the dust after a few runs to figure him out.

Daosheen the Firstborn Daosheen the Firstborn's corpse

This mob actually gave us some nice loots. If I remember right, it sold better than our demiplane raids who tend to have most loot rotting. Somehow I think we will be seeing Daosheen alot more in the future

Ethereal Guard of the Scrykin Glowing Crystalweave Shawl Crystal Pendant of Force

Although we lost some people to the natural progress of people moving on to RL stuff, we also got some nice new additions to our current team and we are going as strong as ever, determined to put Mayong to rest once again in his new incarnation. So therefore I wont spend too much time on this update, because I got the feeling that it will be updated very soon as we continue to progress through PoR. Expect some Theater of Blood updates in the very near future.

We have a very limited number of spots open to certain classes and exceptional players, so if you want to be a part of Raging Fury, this is your chance. Check out our current needs and contact Illandra in-game if interested and qualified

10.04.2006 Raging Fury meets Sullon Zek! by Dalrek

I am a slacker. I admit it. In our last update I promised you some Theater of Blood news soon and now it has been a month. I am sure you have seen plenty of pictures of the theater mobs Dead by now, so since we have moved on to other stuff anyway, how about we skip that.

Since the last update, we were lucky and persistant enough to find the infamous Sverag mob up and get our access to Razorthorn, tower of Sullon Zek a couple weeks ago. That spawn has now been fixed so it is actually reasonable it seems, so instead of a pointless rant on that topic, I will save my ammo for later

We have been pretty busy lately. Suchun went from a hard event to being a 15 min event without casualties besides a frog once in a while and Ghost rolled over pretty fast too after a couple test runs. Unfortunately we havent been back to Suchun for a while and Ghost is not a good fight to get pictures in, so you will have to do with these

Suchun, Blood Warden of Solusek Ghost, Guadian of Razorthorn

Moving on from Ghost, we met Snowtail and got stuck there for a while. The silly lockout in the zone was not very helpful. I wonder how long it would have taken for people to kill Overlord Mata Muram if they had gotten lockout for all of Anguish as soon as they killed Keldovan. So we lost a few days waiting for lockouts on something we didnt kill. Eventually Snowtail bit the dust and in a way reminds me of Suchun now. The last 2 kills were done on first try and now you wonder why it took you so long to figure out a working strategy. Too bad when you get 2 necks on Ghost and then kill Snowtail and get the exact same neck from him also. Fortunately the kill wasnt about loot as much as getting to try the next mob in the zone

Snowtail, Guardian of Razorthorn Snowtail's corpse

Which brings us to the real thing..Sullon Zek herself. Again, due to lockout, we are not getting as much time to work on the event as we would like. When you run out of time after killing Ghost, Snowtail and a couple attempts on Sullon, you have to wait 3 days for the dogs to repop and then kill them again to get another chance at Sullon. Clever...

Sullon Zek, Mistress of Rage

I am sure eventually our hard work will pay off though and we have seen some progress atleast. Give us some time to figure out the mechanics of what looks to be pretty unique fight and I will get a corpse for you as soon as possible.

01.05.2006 Ding dong the Zek is dead! by Dalrek

Here it is as promised: Sullon Zek finally bites the dust after 3 weeks, 16 attempts, and 4 zone crashes, which made us drop Razorthorn for a week. But the encounter got fixed and we reentered Razorthorn determined to test out our new plan which we were confident would work, based on the progress we made before the fight decided to break.

Sunday night it became evident that we had a working strategy and we only needed some minor tuning in terms of execution. So this Monday night, we returned with an even better composed and better prepared raid force than the night before, and it paid off tremendously.

Engaging just after 8:00 pm, we performed a near flawless execution with only 5 or 6 deaths during the following 20-minute brawl. I must say it was a pretty intense, yet a very smooth fight, even though our main tank utilized his Divine Intervention 8 times during the fight, which made me kind of jumpy. (Can't be helped, he is a lizard.) In the end we came out on top and then went into Austin Powers' secret disco room to celebrate, as you can see below.

Sullon Zek, Mistress of Rage dead Disco room

So now with Sullon Zek down, the real challenge is ahead of us. Trying to figure out how to actually get into Ayonae Ro's domain; Deathknell, Tower of Dissonance. Of course everyone is eager to see more of what we can expect in the next weeks to come, so we decided to trigger this little expedition to take a look.

Deathknell

And there she was, Ayonae Ro in all her glory. It kind of seems she isn't doing too well, so we will have to sort things out for her, as we always do.

Ayonae Ro

I can't say that we learned a lot on this first trip into Deathknell, but stay tuned for some new, updated progress hopefully.

19.06.2006 Prophecy of Ro completed! by Dalrek

While the ongoing World Cup soccer has made us adjust our schedule to ensure good turnout and focus, it hasnt stopped us from kicking ass. The World Champions still remain to be found, but Im proud to announce that the european champions have been found! Once again Raging Fury finishes an expansion among the top 5 serverwide. Although we were not serverwide first this time, I must say I am proud of our performance the last couple weeks.

Even knowing that a "nerf" was incoming on the Enforcer event in Deathknell, we have been throwing ourself at the event in the original state instead of waiting for it to be made easier and I am confident we would soon have joined the few tough ones, Assent and Tide, who beat this event in the old version. Deep respect to our friends in Tide on that acomplishment and I wish we could have proven we could beat the same version before we killed Ayonae Ro.

As usual I will refrain from whining and flaming too much about DK, I believe it to be more contructive to make sure the right changes go into the game as soon as possible. We all agree enforcer event was nerfed too hard. To a guild that has worked hard on beating the old version, the new one is just a tad too easy. We found event #2 to be very enjoyable and probably pretty well-balanced in its current state. About event #3, I can only echo what has been said on other boards. Some say Ayonae Ro is also too easy. I tend to disagree. Atleast it seem you can do it 2 different ways, where one is much easier. We won doing it the hard way, so it seemed like a pretty good fight to me.

Ayonae Ro Fight

It took us several tries over a couple days to get it right and have the right people we needed for it, but the outcome was inevitable. In a race against time before too many logged and with people semi focusing on watching the Spain soccer match (bad boys! bonk!), we decided to give it one last shot before calling it a night. Testing a new tactic, we started the fight and pretty fast you could see that people were actually performing much better than our earlier tries. It felt right. Surely she would die? About 30 mins later the cheering filled guildchat as we put a stopper to the wannabe karaokeesinger that is Ayonae Ro

Ayonae Ro dead

Not only did we bag us a serverfirst and serverwide 4th kill, we also got 3 brand new loots not seen before (Illandra tried to loot 3 tonfas, but was distracted long enough for us to actually get something good!)

Glass Orb of Consonance Diva's Mask of Eternal Beauty Symbol of Mezzoforte

We are looking forward to going back to Deathknell and if you want to join us there, recruiting is currently open. We are looking specifically for the following:

  • Bard
  • Monk
  • Necromancer
  • Berzerker
  • Rogue
  • Druid
  • Shadowknight

to join our ranks, but even if not one of those classes, we will take into consideration exceptional candidates. People contact Illandra in game or use the contact link here on the website.

19.09.2006 Raging mushrooms! by Dalrek

Ahoy landlubbers! Finally the big day has arrived. Wash your eyepatches, grab your cutlass and your favorite bottle of rum, "International Talk like a Pirate Day" is here! Oh, and The Serpents Spine expansion goes live today too.

It's been a while since our last update, but hopefully it will not be quite as long before our next. What have we been doing for the past 3 months since completing PoR you ask? Mainly we have been pillaging and plundering Demi-reef of Blood and Deathknell Island over and over, but once we got the opportunity to try some new scenery, we pulled up the anchor and set sail for TSS beta. I must say I am impressed by the determintation of the Raging Fury crew. Showing up on beta with no promises of Sweet treasure day after day, is in my humble opinion what seperates this guild from alot of others. It is the willingness to keep going that has made it possible for us to achieve many a serverfirst in the last expansions. Ofcourse the chance to influence the future means alot and I am happy to inform that we have some important stuff going live with this expansion, which has not been mentioned in todays patch message. First and foremost: New illusions! Also please note the nice feature on beta that allows you to see past peoples normal server titles and showing their true nature, revealing people who love Coco Puffs, Lost Beastlords and even Tonfa Queens

Raging mushrooms

Now we are back and ready to make some mobs walk the plank on good old Antonius Bayle. We have a full bloodthirsty crew ready to unleash hell upon TSS. The next weeks will bring much carnage. Grinding is back, new levels and AAs to be gained, new spells to be obtained, new flagging to be done and then we will emerge victorious as always, giants and dragons alike Dead at our feet

Like I said, we have a full and strong crew at the moment. But if you think you have got what it takes, we always have room for a few exceptional players. Exceptional meaning high raidattendance, wellgeared and highly skilled players. As comparison, the average hp in Raging Fury, all classes included, is above 13k, and the average AA count is above 1200. So anguish gear and 500 AA isnt exceptional and wont cut it even if 500 AA is usually enough for some classes. We might consider DP/DK/RZ geared players with MPG trials and DoN AAs done, good 1 group farmable augments and other indications that you are dedicated to the game though. Send a tell to Illandra in game, email her on application@raging-fury.org or use our PM function. The perfect time for joining is now before we get too far into flagging for the TSS endzones

As we all know, switching guilds and maybe even server like alot of our members did, is a big step. I can tell you hard facts about our hitpoints and AAs, I can tell you our average age (educated guess late 20s), percentage of males vs females in guild (approximately 25% girls) and how many US vs euro players we have (50ish% scandinavians, 30ish% other euros and around 10% US players), but some things cant really be explained without letting you take a peak into the daily life of Raging Fury. So to show you how nice people we really are, I present to you.....quote-o-rama!

Quotes

Thats all for this time mateys! We will return soon with some nice screenshots of Dead TSS critters.
