EverQuest Next officially canceled!

as many have asked over the last years what was becoming of EverQuest Next I think it's best you read the news right away

Let me quote the Daybreak Games president:

I’m writing today to let you know that, after much review and consideration, Daybreak is discontinuing development of EverQuest Next.

Kinda forgot about EQ next - guess its been underways for too many years to keep the interest.

Hoping for you guys that it might free some resources to work on EQ, but most likely they will take on a new project I guess.

From the comments it looks like the staff is either laid off or moved to H1Z1.

That's a shame, the little bit which we saw on the Fan Faire in like 2008(?) looked quite nice.

But since we are almost 10 years further now I guess it was expected to be cancelled at some point. Probably had been cancelled ages ago, they just never announced it :confused:
