Hello RF, im using the oppotunity to use this forum as an OLD EX RF member, to leave a message to all old and retired RF members.

Anyway my brother allready started on a server, so I think this game is gonna be family business ( no idea what the server is called, wont play it before I get home from work next week )

Yeah, but I think I joined when most of those you think about still played ( Like most of the danish crew, Jander, Faiar, Brondalin, Timmok, morpheous etc ) and the only name I recognised there was Anderki.
Taxa wrote it a bit wrong actually, it's not based on old RF members, but from a few of the old RF members, some from Vanguard, and some from AO, mostly revolving around Eberan and a guy we worked with at Jubii...
From RF there's so far 4 people, Eberan, Eberan's GF who played a necro in eq also, Azeri, Taxa, and RonC... ie. majorly old school people...
Looks like Anderki might join also...
Anyway, we're playing on Dagon if anybody is goint to try and haven't chosen a server yet..
And no, Timmok isn't coming, he doesn't have the guts to try another mmo :)

(Stikka here btw) I won't be playing AoC as I promised myself years ago that EQ was the end of my MMO career and I don't have the time anyway.
I recognise the names well enough Azeri Ron, changed his EQ name a few times back in the day, Blackron is the one I remember best. Taxa the solo maniac (and event n0me) is obviously rather familiar.
I wonder where the Paki mafia are and if they still play anything.
I'm ashamed to admit that I can't remember Eberans girlfriends Necro name (just remembered, TIERRA), but I do remember her Dad playing Klaymore the haffer dr00d.
I hope that everyone has fun in the new game, it's nice for old friends to get together again :handsinair::w00t:

Yes UK. spanish, German, and US versions. and you cant play Euro from a US copy =/
I was thinking about buying it till i found that out, but im not going to fool around trying to get a UK copy shiped to the states.

I dont have another MMPORG to play in my off days atm. Not sure if to try this or to go back to CoH.
I know very little about the Conan world. So if someone could answer a few questions it would be appreciated.
Are the 3 playable races based off egyptians, romans and norse ?
If i do play i will probably play either a Tempest of Set, a Herald of Xotil, a demonologist or a Priest of Mitra
Has anyone tried any of these classes and what do you think of them ?

Hah I misread that as a Dermatologist, thought that seemed a bit odd.
It seems hard to keep up with all of the MMO's these days. There used to be Rf people playing in DAoC, Lineage 2, Wow, I seem to recall the WoW guild falling apart or reinventing itself completely. Star Wars Galaxies....Vanguard...LotR online....the only game I think could tempt me back into online gaming would be Warhammer online if that was actually any good. I used to play that as a kid and have very fond memories of it :)

Got a lvl 9 rogue named Grynoldy in AoC :-)
I like the dark atmosphere in the game, so think I will be playing it for a least a little while, or untill I have to group with people, and find out they cant play :-(

I had a pretty good feeling as I saw this game the first time. Nearly the same I had with EQ. So hopfully this is my new online game :)
@Dalrek: So far I know you need a similar PC like for VG.

Yea, they are losely based on those 3 cultures.
Tempest of Set: Lots and lots of AE nukes and such. Pretty decent heals
Demonologist: Its like a cross between an EQ mage and WoW warlock :P
Priest of Mitra: Best healers there are, and access to quite heavy damage as well
HoX: Wizards with two-handed swords.. whats not to like ?
Hmmm, I might have a look at it, sounds interesting. What server are the nice folks (not that I would be allowed to be on another server than Illa anyway :wub: )

I've heard AoC requires a BIG computer.. Would a Pentium D 3.0, 2 GB ram, RAdeon x1900xtx run it well?
If so i might give it a go but if I have to get better stuff i think ill skip as i just bought me a PS3. ;)

I run it on a AMD 64 - 4000+ with 2 GB RAM, and a nVidia 7600 GTX with 256MB in a 168+ x 1050 resolution (widescreen).
It set it for medium gfx lvl, and its running ok.

Believe me Taxa, with the economy and gas prices here I would love to stay home and play it. I started my own business a few months back and I am very busy. Hopefully within a year I can be an absentee owner and just sit back and do nothing =) Maybe then I can.
And to the current members, its great to see that its still around and a major force serverwide. I feel honored to have been a part of RF for the years I have been. I can still remember the first raid with you guys back on The Rathe. It was plane of hate, I was so excited that I ditched class to raid with you guys haha. The only familiar face I see on the roster now is Xack and he still doesn’t seem to have as many HP as my paladin did =X
Bloody hell, an American complaining about THEIR gas prices, should try seeing what we pay at the pump's in the Uk, and I'm guessing most of Europe!

Yeah he re-created Halinno but i think by then it was just something to do rather than take it up seriously again.
They are now playing some free mmorpg game in their spare time. Don`t ask me the name of it, Dave linked me it last night but i refused to click it. :)
Last i spoke to Yanik was around 2 years ago and he was trying to gain some kind of promotion within the fire service. perhaps he got it and is why he gave up online gaming.
Arzt too doesn`t even have an internet connection any more and is still a grumpy bastard. :)

Hello to the new folks, im laffy, a beaten down regularly LD chanter RF was kind enough to let hang around for a couple of years and i performed VoG with mad skillz :/ (which is prolly what aesculap is making fun off ;( even though i had the fucking epix after 4 months of questing :/ bitz guild members for u)

I remember Laughter single handedly holding together a raid in a temple with big snakes... and everyone said he would go LD at any moment, but he didn't! Totally saved the day as we were racing some french guild who kept training us.

True enough, Laffy and his rapid mez work helped a lot that day, it wasn't long after that when the French guild (name escapes me) got disbanded by the server admins for cynical training.
The racing to targets was tense, but I'm glad they finally did away with that rubbish with instanced zones and raids.

I said when I quit EQ I wouldn't get drawn into another, I'm even resisting my eldest two sons begging that I join them in WoW.

I bought all the expension like a month ago , installed , downloaded patch , logged in and .....too many thing had changed and all those expension scared me lol so i quit .
Am currently playing Aion but not as hard as i used to with EQ , i play a cleric on Israphael named Paramix , level 34 .

I can't help you on that as I took over Swobu when RF needed a shaman, the last I saw of Carsten and Louise they were fine and had a happy life with a baby who's probably 4+ years old by now and may have a brother or sister or two. They were playing some EQ2 and had a brief comeback on EQ1 a while before I quit.
Yan, yes Heka was a warrior and Stikka a rogue, I retired Heka not long after moving to Ant Bayle and Stikka when a shaman was needed after I took some time off.
