We are progressing nicely in the hellzone known as Meldrath's Majestic Mansion and I wouldnt be surprised to see some kills this week. Unfortunately, reallife has claimed a few of our members and we are looking for a couple of dedicated players, especially clerics, to help with the final push on the path to Crystallos.
Our full recruiting needs can be seen here: Recruiting status
It has been a while since we had open spots and I expect them to be filled fast, so do not hesitate to contact either Illandra or an officer in game for further info
I know I kinda promised a MMM update with a kill last week. Unfortunately it takes more than just promises to make things happens. So instead, we worked hard and finally earned the kill. And not just one. To make up for the delay, we decided to bring you 2 Dead mobs instead. No other reason at all, I swear.
First we have Breakneck, Master at Arms. Alot have been said about this script and I am sure alot more will be said if the script, trash and elevators all remained unchanged. To be honest, I see no reason you have to go
through the first stages. The final fight is ok and if it was just this fight in a room somewhere with no popping and depopping, then it would probably be a nice event. With determination, we finally succeeded
with this frustrating part of the zone and Breakneck went down
Next up is Krond the Longhorn. Definitely more a traditional type of event. To be honest it was easier than expected and I am not convinced all mechanics are working properly as it is at the moment. Never the less, this
doesnt affect our tactics, and with this event being a bit more traditional, it did not take us long to put Krond to rest
Below you see the non-core rewards, first from Breakneck and then we had the luck to get double weapons on Krond. Atleast I think the paladins all agree on that.
Next up is working on some of the reportedly more buggy events in the zone. Tactical Prototype XXVII was actually the first event we worked on, so we already have some progress on this. Stay tuned for more next.
As always, dont forget to check out our recruitment section. We still have a few open spot for particularly - but not limited to - clerics
Some people think I have nothing else to do besides making frontpage updates, so they made a big conspiracy to kill Tactical Prototype XXVII just to keep me busy
So here it is. I am proud to announce that tonight, Raging Fury took our third scalp in Meldraths Majestic Mansion. Prototype is down and the gnomes went back to the drawing table!
Tonight we took another step towards facing Meldrath himself, as Seneschal Bargangle Tinkerson was defeated. To increase our chances of winning, I wasnt online and therefor have no pictures other than the winning strat. So I am gonna break the rules and share this with you all, courtesy of Rummux the Tactician
Here we go! Last of the events leading to the final confrontation with Meldrath the Malignant has been defeated
and we have paid the gnome mastermind the first visit. Expect to see a full update of the whole MMM zone defeated
soon!
So we did as he asked and went to pay him a little visit. Put a nice little dent in his suit also and plan to make that dent quite alot bigger very soon!
Approximately a month after our first defeat of Breakneck in MMM, we finally defeated all the obstacles laid before us and have finished the zone in yet another in a long list of serverfirst victories.
As one of the guilds who entered MMM early and started working hard on progression, we have seen our share of bugs. We have killed 2 different Breaknecks, 3 different Krond (including the "unkillable regen" version) and
3 different prototypes. We have had events where you had to drop instance and clear trash again on every wipe cause events wouldnt reset properly and how can you forget the elevator of doom with its huuge trains?
One of the strengths of Raging Fury has always been to never give up. Was it 50+ attempts on Overlord Mata Muram and over 100 failures on Sisters in Solteris? Meldraths Majestic Mansion has surely tested our patience. Never
the less, we came out on top, doing what only 3 guilds serverwide has done before us and that makes this victory even more Sweet.
We are lucky that our continued success seem to draw high quality apps to Raging Fury to incorporate into our team to fill the roles after those that venture on to reallife endeavors and on the other hand less than a handful
left us to join other competing guilds over the last 2 years that I can remember, despite ongoing tells from other recruiters (some more humorous than others). All in all this means that over the years we have had a strong
foundation of experienced raiders at our disposal. Hats off to them all and they deserve a place on this frontpage for sure.
Below you can see our raidforce getting ready for the final battle with Meldrath
And ofcourse the outcome was a nice picnic in what used to be Meldrath's room!
We still have a very uneven distribution on core drops, so was almost funny to see that the BP core was one of our rarest and we now have a happy wizard with a new robe. MMM is still a source of tons of weapons
for us and its not uncommon at all to get 5 weapons in an evening. Meldrath himself proved to be no different and dropped a new weapon for us, along with a nice ring.
So whats next for Raging Fury? I guess 2 months of key farming and gearing up before we enter Crystallos and kick some behind in there. As usual, if you are interested in joining us, send a tell to our guild recruiter
Illandra. I know we might have room for an exceptional shaman and enchanter. We are most likely talking solteris gear and high RA, but Illandra will know for sure.
Big changes this week! I'm proud to announce that we finally came up with the solution to Triality's supremacy, especially in maturity. After only 7 years among the top guilds serverwide, it was clear we were doing something wrong. It has taken us a while to figure out what.
How do you compete with someone who can outdps, outtank and outheal your entire guild with just 4 groups?? As usual we just threw together some random people in a group and asked them to come up with a solution, but you know, we just plain suck at figuring out stuff. So only one thing left to do:
We consulted Dr. Zaar over at Triton headquarters. He is the serverwide #1 expert on megalomania and other delusions and one of the few people in the world who had been granted an audience with Quarken the Almighty
Since no single guild could even match up against 4 groups, the solution was simple. A merger! And not just any merger! After talking it over with the other guilds on the server who have beaten last expansion and are far progressed in MMM, we agreed it was futile.
The solution: We have taken the best of Raging fury, Shadows of Doom, Tide and Darkwind to form a new unstoppabble force!
Raging DarkTide of Doom
We have decided its time to stop being so soft, letting people slip by with 75% raidattendance and only 5 days of raiding.
Our new requirement will be 95% RA, 7 days per week and if you dont show up, you have to go downstairs in the livingroom and get a note from your mom explaining why. Thats how the big guys play it!
After the merge, our roster has swollen considerable, but we can always squeeze in a few more. Who knows, some guild might tune next expansion to their setup, so we have to be prepared! If interested, check here.
I guess it is time for another overdue update to replace the april's fools one. At first we didn't really have
much to report since we were just farming MMM for more flags until we could safely enter Crystallos. So
originally I was just going to make a small update that everything was going as planned and we now had MMM down
to a one day farmstatus and post a little lockout picture
But before I got around to that, we had already started our first raids in Crystallos, so I figured I might as
well delay the update a little and wait until we had some nice screenshots and hopefully a victory in Crystallos
to show instead. So we ended up clearing Fire wing after playing around with Tjudawos for a couple days
And not only that. We progressed a little in Earth wing also and I decided I might as well wait until Earth was
down also instead of having to make an update soon after again. Ofcourse we ended up taking down Kildrakaun and
clearing Earth
Next up was Ice wing. Again we rolled over the first event and then needed a bit of tuning and learning on the
final dragon in this wing, but he went down eventually
Now we have started working on what seems to be the major hurdle in the zone; Vyskudra in the Air wing. He seems
to be quite challenging at the moment. Then again, so does most stuff until you figure it out, so Im hoping it
wont be too long until we can present you with a screenshot of his corpse.
Crystallos has given us quite alot of nice items, so I will end this update with a selection of some of the loot
that we have gotten in the zone so far in addition to the armor core upgrades.
Feel free to check back frequently. There should be another update coming soon hopefully
After tearing through the other wings, we needed a little time on the Air wing. Not so much rethinking tactics but more a finetuning of our execution.
So I am proud that I did not promise too much when I said we would have an update soon with a Dead Vyskudra. Some will say we just finally got our act together, while others will say it was Misse's promise to talk less if we won that made all the difference. The result remains the same, Vyskudra is down and we are on our way to Kerafyrm!
Just a brief update on our progress. After clearing the other wings, we have now entered Kerafyrm's domain and on the
way there disposed of this little wyrmling. After that we took a brief visit to see Kerafyrm, but we were already past
our normal raidhour so we just stopped by to let her know we are coming. Soon...
In other news, I find it worth mentioning that Darkwind has decided to close its doors and disband. Regardless of any
differences there might have been, you can only respect their accomplishments over the years and be saddened when one
of the older raidguilds in Everquest calls it a day.
We have in the past received some high quality people from Darkwind
and although we have limited room at the moment, I do welcome those that we can offer a spot. I am sure you will be wellreceived and make a good addition to our team and I hope you will find a home with Raging Fury that matches what you had.
To those venturing to other guilds and servers, best of luck to you all and hats of to Darkwind past and present.
