17.01.2005 Corpseshot galore! by Nineveh

Alot of people have complained about the lack of corpseshots displayed on the page of late. Personally I thought an action picture spoke volumes well beyond a corpse stained across the zone interior, though upon receiving a few comments, in addition to reading the latest news posting on Darkwind's frontpage, I decided to explore the possibility of directly influencing the position of the Anguish nameds once merely a few percentage of their lifebar remained. Much to Uren's disdain I might add, how could one even consider to let an AE rampage mob roam blithely through our raidforce!

Despite initial worries, the results were not half bad, bar Ture who seemingly managed to force himself into a nearby wall after having been stalked in open territory for quite some time. We are still working hard on aiding Jelvan, and I fear having to write another news posting within the week. That being said, we are still looking for a few dedicated clerics to join our ranks, high playtime and alternate advancement are both traits held in high regard, the rest we can easily provide.

Keldovan the Harrier's corpse Warden Hanvar's corpse Ture's corpse

Countless hours has of late been spent amid the remnants of Jelvan's nightmare in the lower depths of Anguish. Haunted sans comparison by the three ellusive Tormentors, we have been throwing ourselves repeatedly at a seemingly relentless foe, though post one of our later attempts, we discerned one of the vital aspects that eventually yielded the key to solving this event.

I've read numerous places that this event is one of the hardest designed to date in Everquest, and while I fully agree with that assessment, I must voice my disapproval towards any encounter that deems 20% of the expedition to be inhabited by clerics a necessity. That being said, the Jelvan encounter offered us an andrenaline rush that has long been absent in an Omens raid endeavour. If nothing else, conquering the tormentors is the ultimate test of teamwork and coordination, a test any guild would be proud to complete.

Our recent progression was somewhat halted by a lack of key classes for events such a Jelvan, though with a recent influx of new trialists, we are ready to continue where we left off prior to the last year coming to an end. A formal greeting was obviously arranged with Arch Magus Vangl, ending at 65%, though I will not promise any corpse shot here tomorrow, only time will tell. In case you wonder where all our globes of discordant energy are ending up, the second picture below should suffice for explanations!

Merely one quote this time, though the content alone is disturbing enough to justify the limited amount. For explanations feel free to inquire from Finnemann ingame.

30.01.2005 Arch Magus Vangl slain by Nineveh

Arch Magus Vangl proved himself to be quite the adversary, especially faced against a raidforce in deep contemplation of what unheard of strategy to apply against this particular encounter. Several intricate battleplans were made, and all found unworthy. During our last attempt of the evening, as our initial plan was on the brink of failure once again, a rather blunt statement was uttered in our raidchannels; Merely zerg the lummox...

Overlord Mata Muram Overlord Mata Muram

Somewhat baffled that our medieval approach of brute force was the key to winning, potential corpseshots all but eluded me, and hopefully the screenshots of Mata Muram will suffice for now, despite their limited quality. As the first quote below will clearly outline, we were somewhat uncertain whether or not the nemesis of Anguish himself was initially aggro, or triggered through a brief display of exquisite lore, thus we sent our blithely unaware monk Karde in to investigate with the clear instruction of merely checking if the mob was indeed triggered.

After receiving our general go ahead, Karde immersed himself in the lure of Mata Muram, and seconds after asking "What worlds" a totally unaware raidforce found themselves quite Dead. Several petitions were made that night though, and hopefully Karde will adorn himself with a new title within the week; Karde the Illiterate

run up, to see if he is not aggro, but DONT hail him, oh.......

04.01.2006 Mayong Mistmoore slain! by Nineveh

Mayong Mistmoore transcended into full divinity tonight as his earthly form was slain in the Demi-Plane of Blood. Many nights have been spent amid Mayong's most trusted council, and despite making continous progress on the event, many of us could not hide our frustration when we wiped with the master of dreadspire at 2% nearing midnight.

Motivation was paragon however, and every single member remained online to make one final attempt, despite the fact that most of them were already dreading the morning thereafter. Euphoria is hardly adequate when attempting to define the seconds following our victory, but considering the effort our guild has put into the latest expansion, I think the feeling was ubiquitous. Never before have I received such a barrage of tells, fairly certain the number exceeded hundreds, most demanding that the aftermath of the encounter was included in the webpage update, namely the lore.

Mayong Mistmoore Mayong Down!

Supposedly the effects of Mayongs elaborate scheme should be evident in every zone of the game, though sadly this aspect of the encounter appeared broken. Action screenshots are all but lacking unfortunately, as I was rather preoccupied during the encounter, hopefully we can ameliorate on this in the future.

The Demi-Plane is strangely silent. Though Mayong's body is ...

This is the sweetest victory I could have every hoped for.

The focused devotion and attention you demonstrated have len...

You have unwittingly worshipped me, and you have martyred me...

Let the world know that a new deity has joined the pantheon ...

11.01.2007 Raging fury finishes TSS! by Dalrek

Back from being MIA, so I better make the update I promised everyone. I can only agree with what Damide said on the Tide page. Not even the best movie director could have staged a better finish than we saw on finishing TSS on Antonius Bayle. It was really a close race.

Raging Fury chose a different path when it came to priorities in regards to Ashengate vs Frostcrypt. It is always a tough decision. How long can you keep working on one specific mob when there is a whole other branch to explore and conquer? With the risk of falling behind, we chose to stay in Ashengate and finish Lethar 2 before starting a new progression path. Luckily it paid off. With hard work from the RF team, we beat Lethar in early December and started working on Frostcrypt access. We entered Frostcrypt just before our x-mas break and ended up clearing the first instance in a few days, but getting stuck on not receiving the flag we were supposed to on Lorekeeper Grenwald

After our holiday break, we came out with all guns blazing. People eager to raid, with renewed energy after being pushed hard to finish FC flagging. Finally we could do what we do best instead of doing weird quests. It was time to kill some big bad guys. We redid the first FC instance on a Tuesday, got the first 4 events in FC2 down on Wednesday and Thursday and faced Beltron the Shadeking on the Friday. Impressive job from all our members. So we start from scratch on Shadeking and 2 first attempts get him to 70% and then 60%. Time runs out and we go back to the drawing board and rethink the tactics needed for the fight. After clearing re-popped events for a few days, we get back to Shadeking...only to have the event crash the zone and having to end the night because clearing back will take too long. This happens a couple times and we end up having to do re-popped events again. Yay! In the meanwhile, Tide kills Shadeking and although I would have loved to be first on him, I will be the first one to congratulate Tide on the accomplishment and my gratz tell was sent not because it was the right thing to do, but because we know what it takes to do it. Every guild that kill end zone bosses among the first 5 or 10 guilds have busted their asses off to reach that point and deserve recognition

Shade King Alive

We think we found out why the instance has been crashing on us and we get to try out our new tactics. Each try getting him lower and lower. We are aware that Tide is working on Lethar at the same time and while I prefer to focus on our own performance and not on other guilds, I would be lying if I said its not a motivation to me to have a goal and some friendly competition in reaching that goal, in this case being the first guild on AB to finish The Serpents Spine expansion. We go again, getting him below 40%, losing people along the way...getting him to 30% and things start getting scary....20% and things are out of control. With Beltron at 3% and desperately trying to squeeze out the last DPS we need, we realize we need one more minor adjustment and we have to take the wipe. But instead of pointing fingers and blaming each other, we can see how close we are and everyone gets that extra boost they need to go again even though its starting to get late and we know it will probably be the last attempt of the night. We can't let him stay up!

Shade King Dead

Last try.....We get Beltron the Shadeking down. And not only did we get him down, we destroyed him! You get the feeling that everything is going smooth and when you see the Main Tank still standing proud with Beltron at 20% and below, while not seeing people spamming raid say with names of those who died, you know its a done deal. The best feeling there is and a nice adrenaline rush. With this last kill done, I'm proud to say that Raging Fury is one of the still very few guilds that have finished The Serpents Spine expansion completely. Thanks to the competition for keeping us on our toes and pushing us to continuously improve and give our best. And big gratz on Lethar guys.

Last I am proud to say that with the help of DeIllusional our Raging Fury Item Database is now up to date and includes TSS loots as well. Enjoy!

15.01.2008 Limited recruiting! by Dalrek

We are progressing nicely in the hellzone known as Meldrath's Majestic Mansion and I wouldnt be surprised to see some kills this week. Unfortunately, reallife has claimed a few of our members and we are looking for a couple of dedicated players, especially clerics, to help with the final push on the path to Crystallos.

Our full recruiting needs can be seen here: Recruiting status

It has been a while since we had open spots and I expect them to be filled fast, so do not hesitate to contact either Illandra or an officer in game for further info
