Open MG raid Mar 18 2011
Looking to take the MG down to 80 and possibly 10% for the group task aug rewards tomorrow at 19:00GMT. I have talked to SoD and a few other guilds who are willing to help. The quests updated by doing this are Parts is Parts and Maximum Capacity. The updates for Parts is Parts happens at 80 and for Maximum Capacity happens at 10%, at which point the MG goes inactive.
Make sure you have the quests if you plan on joining. The NPC is Gearbie Gogglenoggin located at pos 1814 pos 2291 in DSH. This a static open target raid. My understanding so far is that everyone in raid (possibly anyone in the area of MG will get updated) I cannot confirm either whether MG spawns adds during the attack. Those of you who have not done some of the farming parts of these tasks need to know that the adds are immune to snare, root and mez. They may need to be offtanked. I dont have alot of details but I am willing to at least try this event. Any help leading or simply attending would be appreciated. Last edited by Arionex; 17-03-2011 at 22:58. |

I'll be there with me and bard (Linalee).
When we watched MG on the first day, he spawned 18-23 mobs in front of him over a time of probably a minute. After a while (20 minutes?) they started to despawn again. When all were gone, MG spawned a fresh wave. And so on. When the mobs were killed, there was no immediate respawn. Each mob can drop a single quest item - not always. The "uncommon" mobs (those that do not exist in the regular MG mission) always dropped a specific piece. MG itself is static, can be attacked, and does nothing. Spell resists are insanely high. His spawned mobs are pretty rough.. Lvl 90-95. The suits can be mezzed usually. The copters can not. They quad for up to 10k per hit (on my bard with ~6400AC, CA/CS 30). Some have a 30k AE (flamesuits, oozes). Some have massive heals (copter). If he behaves different when under attack is a little unclear - but if over 100 people hit on him, be ready for MASSIVE lag and delays. There WILL be add waves; imo these are the same as when he is left in peace, but there were reports that the waves did not appear for 2 hours and then there were like 50+ adds at once. |

I was speaking to Vmas yesterday and RF and SoD was going to take it out on Tuesday 22nd March, if you do take it out today don't kill it bring it down to 10% and wait for the script to catch up for the updates. It is not meant to be killed. (and be prepared for it to take along time (2 guilds took 5+ hrs to bring it down)). I have posted that you're planning on trying it tonight too, on SoD forum, perhaps you will get some people showing for that tonight.

RF will raid this target during our raid hours on Tuesday together with SoD.
Today is an off day thing which of course you are allowed to do (just don't kill him :P). |

I also read that he got killed on another server - stopping dps for the server to catch up at around 20% should be advised
If there are no adds for more than 30 minutes, DPS should stop too for a while imo |

- The Mechamatic Guardian now has a limiter on the number of steamworks it can command at once. It will no longer process damage if this limit is exceeded. - Reduced the spell resistances and the resistance to combat abilities on the Mechamatic Guardian.
